Come join us for an adventure and find your path together!

Wild Wonders is a child-led group for children and their caregivers. We find wonder and wonder finds us!

hello there

We experience all sorts of things

Jump! Stomp! Touch! Climb! Smell! See! Build! Reach! Try! Feel! Roll! Run! Splash! Dig!

And while we never know what we will find, we will discover a lot about ourselves, the earth, and each other along the way.

It is about the journey not the destination

Each week, we will follow the children's lead to support and foster investigation, independence, and their sense of agency.

We will spend the first half of class wandering before we join up together for a snack, story, a little more play, and meander back to our starting point where we will say our goodbyes.

We visit each location two weeks in a row, as scheduling permits. Some favorites are El Polin Springs, the Japanese Tea Garden, Sutro Heights Park, Metson Lake, the Presidio, and many more. Most locations are outdoors and on the Western Side of San Francisco.

The group does not shy away from rain as we embrace the puddles!

Britt Gerhard has been passionate about facilitating groups for families since early in her career, when she created an online and offline community for new parents for California Pacific Medical Center. This is her third year working with families in nature, and she is a strong believer that outdoor free play is one of the best gifts that we, as parents, can give to ourselves and to our children.

If you would like to arrange a group for your school community, please contact me.

I discovered that movement through active free play - particularly in the outdoors - is absolutely the most beneficial gift we as parents, teachers, and caregivers can bestow on our children to ensure healthy bodies, creative minds, academic success, emotional stability and strong social skills.
